Respect Your Elders.

In April of 2020 Byron received a phone call from our pastor, Tommy Nelson. He told him that our church was in need of new/more Elders and that he was being considered. He asked Byron and I to pray over the decision to join the Elder board.

Over the next 18 months 10 men were brought on as Elder Candidates. The current Elders would have that time to see if the candidates would be a good fit for the board and the candidates were able to decided if the ministry was a good fit for them and their families.

The candidates were presented to the church body on September 26 giving the members time to bring up any concerns about the candidates.

Finally, on October 24th, Byron and the other Candidates were ordained as Elders. It is a very big honor and big responsibility. Especially for a church of our size. I am very proud of Byron and thankful for his willingness to serve the Lord in this capacity.

"Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them - not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve.
1 Peter 5:2
