Denton Bible Student Choir 2021

Saturday June 19 was the Denton Bible Student Choir Concert.

In normal years the Student Choir will go on a week long tour to Juvenile Detention Centers in Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado. Because of Covid regulations and challenges, this year the choir went to a local nursing home, the local detention center and did a concert in a park.

Gabe had a speaking part sharing the Apostle's Creed reader's theater style.

Their choir has a very neat, show choir feel with choreography and solo spotlights.

The concert ended with the song "Oh, Happy Day". Past choir members were invited to join the choir on the risers.

What a blessing this choir has been to Gabe this year!!!

On Sunday morning they performed 3 songs and a powerful skit for our church services. Below are two of the songs they performed.

This one was my favorite!!

Wake Boarding Dude

Gabe has been saving all of his piano tuning money and finally decided to spend some of it on something he has wanted to do for years; wakeboarding!

We headed to the wakeboarding park and he got his gear. They start you on a knee board until you get the hang of it.

He did a pretty good job! Many people have a super hard time just getting off the dock.

The third corner gave him trouble...he fell off his board every time he rounded it.

Here he is at that third corner again:

He did try the standing wakeboard at one time, but couldn't stay on.

Gabe is already planning to go back soon!

The super fun part was that he did it while Gigi and PopPop were here so we all got to cheer him on!! We may have had as much fun watching as he had on the board!

We love our little Lake Town with an Ocean town attitude!

Denton Bible Middle School Choir 2021

Selah had her very last Middle School Choir concert this year.

She even had a solo! She did an awesome job!

Here is a video of the song she had a solo in. She is the second soloist.

These are the 8th graders moving up to Student Choir in the fall!

It's a great group of kids!!

8th Grade girls:

We love the Denton Bible student choirs!!

Last Day of Homeschool 2021

Our last day of school was May 21st this year!

We celebrated that evening with Daddy by presenting something each kid learned this year and enjoyed.
Faith shared about the spinal cord.

Mig shared about the Black Plague.

He also created a really cool, interactive plague simulation.

Selah shared a report about Eliza Hamilton.

Gabe shared about Machiavelli's The Prince.

We ended our school year with a unit study on Greek Mythology and Greek Gods. Each child created their own Greek toga to wear and presented a project about one of the gods.

Hera:

Poseidon:

Athena:

Apollo:

After the presentations Daddy presented their certificates of promotion to the next grade.

Then it was time for extra awards:

With an extra special surprise - Gabe was awarded a scholarship to cover a dual credit class at our local community college next semester!!! Praise the LORD! He will be taking a Statistics class!

GiGi and PopPop were able to join us for the celebration virtually again this year!

We ended the evening with a Pizza Toga party!!

The following Thursday, Gabe's Worldview had their final class. One more year and then he will complete this intensive program!

It is exciting that things are starting to get back to normal.
