Someone lost a tooth!!

For a few years now, Faith has been checking nearly everyday for a loose tooth. She really wanted to loose a tooth!! Finally, on the last day of Choir Camp, she noticed her front bottom tooth was wiggly.

While we were camping, I served corn on the cob. She spoke up and told us that it was really hard to eat with a wiggly tooth. Byron looked over at her and saw that it was just barely hanging on. He grabbed a hold of it and out it popped! She was SO EXCITED!!

Byron placed the tooth on her paper plate while she happily finished her corn. When everyone was finished eating, we gathered the paper plates and threw them all away. EVEN THE ONE WITH HER TOOTH!

So, we wrote the tooth fairy a note and apologized for the missing tooth. She graciously visited and left some money for our sweet girl.

Oh, the life of a fourth child....

Here are a few pictures of the new space in Faith's mouth.

Summer of 2018 - Camping - our last summer hooray.

For our last weekend of summer, before starting school, we celebrated by going out to our favorite local RV campsite by the lake.

We really enjoy RV camping....being in nature, but at the same time, being able to sleep comfortably in air conditioning is really awesome.

I'm not sure what this pose is....maybe this is his "relaxing at the lake" pose?

Our little "cabin" in the woods...

I have always wanted to try night sky photography, so for this trip I brought my tripod and read up on some tips and tricks. Our lake spot is still pretty close to the DFW area, so we still had a lot of city ambient light, but I was able to get some stars, anyway! Actually - we didn't see many of these stars until I took the picture! It is amazing what cameras can do!

Can you find the Big Dipper?

We went on a hike by the lake.

Faith had fun finding nature's treasures.

Making memories at the lake.

What a great way to end our summer!

Summer of 2018 - Choir Camp

Our last week of July is always reserved for our church's Choir Camp.

Once a year our church puts on a big musical for 1st through 6th graders and the younger kids (ages 3-6) do a mini-musical. This was my fourth year to direct the mini-musical that we call "Mini-Camp".

The Mini-Campers told the Gospel message through colors and did a great job! Our little Faith started out the whole mini-musical.

Gabe also helped out with Mini-Camp.

We perform 3 songs with choreography and a short script.

After the Mini-Campers' performance, the big kids took the stage to perform Esther-Ordinary Faith. A musical version of the story of Queen Esther.

Selah had a solo and a speaking part as Suzie from the city of Susa.

Mig stole the show and provided a little comic relief as the king's guard.

It was a great show full of catchy musical numbers and a great lesson of faith. This is always one of our favorite weeks of the summer. We love Kids Praise Choir Camp!

Summer of 2018 - Serna Mini-Reunion

In mid-July we hosted Byron's brother, sister and their families at our house for a mini-reunion.

We ate brisket, played games, hung out and had a horse shoe tournament.

It was our first time to hang out since Nicol and Felix got married. We even were able to meet all 5 of his kids and his grand-daughter.

I think everyone had a very good time. We laughed and made new memories. It was much needed family time!
