More Christmas Eve Fun!!

Christmas Eve was full of fun! First up was helping Byron bag and burn leaves. This made Byron very happy and he thinks he has found a new Christmas tradition.

The kids did a lot of bagging, but they also really loved playing in the leaves.

One of our favorite Christmas Eve Traditions is opening one gift (always pj's a movie, popcorn and hot chocolate from Aunt Amanda). Once the gifts are opened the kids get on their jammies, we pop the popcorn and make the hot chocolate. Then they watch their Christmas movie while the adults play a game and exchange pjs.

The adults draw names at Thanksgiving and keep it a secret until Christmas Eve. Last year I got Cow pajamas and wore them for Chic-fil-a Day and Halloween. This year Byron got a Chicken costume - I guess we will do a barn yard Halloween this year!!

After we got on our jammies, we played The Game of Things. Oh. My. Goodness! So hilarious!! We laughed so hard!

Everyone had a lot of fun, but we knew we had to get to bed, because Santa was on his way!!

Christmas Eve Cookie Contest

On Christmas Eve, GiGi hosted her famous Cake Box Cookie Contest!

Faith made a Cotton Candy Cookie

Tali made a Minty cookie with mint M&Ms and candy canes on top

Adrik called his white cookies "Colorful". They were marzipan filled.

Charli Kate had Chocolate Horsey Cookies

Mig made S'mores cookies

Selah made Christmas Chocolate Chip cookies.

Gabe made "Twixies". Sugar cookies with caramel and chocolate on top.

These kids are getting really GOOD at cookie making! They were all yummy!

We all got a plate of cookie samples and voted for our favorite.

3rd place went to Gabe's Twixies

2nd place went to Adrik's "Colorful" cookies

And first place was FAITH!

Everyone had fun and was super happy to have so many yummy cookies!!

Santa and the Little Elm Trail of Lights

I am very behind on blogging! I am going back to December to catch up.

This year we did something new! We went to Bass Pro Shops to see Santa.

The night before we went we FaceTimed with GiGi and PopPop. They asked Faith what she was going to ask for from Santa. Her reply was, "an Asian family". Their faces filled with shock, until I explained that she would like a family of Asian dolls for her dollhouse!! After that, we coached her for when she saw Santa to say, "For my dollhouse, I would like an Asian doll family." HA!!!

We learned that Santa is a BIG Beatles fan. He loved Selah's jacket and sang "Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" for the kids.

We even found a reindeer at the store.

That evening we met our friends at Fuzzy's for dinner and then walked the Little Elm Trail of Lights.

Little Elm always has the cutest little elf village set up at the park and then across from the park is a path that is decorated with lights. It was very fun!
