Glasses!!

At Faith's well visit this year her pediatrician suggested she see an eye doctor. She is near sighted and needs glasses!

She and I had fun picking out a pair of fun glasses. She looks adorable and can see so much better!

Celebrating Faith

Celebrating Faith's birthday didn't go quite as planned. She had asked to have the neighbor girls over to eat dinner with us and watch a movie. That week Byron was sick with stomach pains, aches and a fever, so our celebration had to be scaled back to just the 6 of us. She opened presents in the morning.

One of our favorite new games: Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza! Thank you, Ms. Cheryl!

We watched the new Mulan movie that evening and had Mulan inspired cupcakes:

Even though it didn't go as planned, we had a good time celebrating Faith! And a few days later we celebrated 6 years of being a family!! She is a blessing!!

National Videogame Muse

In November, we took a field trip to the National Videogame Museum!

This was such a cool place!!

They had retro video games, consoles, controls and so much trivia! Much of the museum was hands-on - with sanitizer near by.

Made entirely from Rubix cubes:

Taking a step back a few decades:

The world's largest Pong game!

Gabriel with Gabriel from Halo:

Such a fun field trip!!

Celebrating Gabriel

We celebrated Gabe's birthday early this year because he really wanted an election night watch party with a few friends.

I'm not going to say who he and his friends were rooting for, but I'll just leave these pictures here to speak for themselves......

This is their "presidential body-guard pose".

They spent the evening watching the election returns and playing Monopoly "A House Divided".

Of course, eveyone left still not knowing who won the election. Actually, by the time everyone had gone home, it looked like Trump might win.

We did do a little celebrating on Gabe's actual birthday.

He asked for new arrows for his bow.

He asked for an ocarina from GiGi and PopPop - they got him this beautiful instrument - which he has been playing since!

Aunt Jackie's handmade cards are always the best - this one is just right for a piano tuner!

Trying out those new arrows!

I'm pretty sure his birthday wish was for "4 more years". So sorry, buddy!!

We had fun celebrating 15 years of GABE!!

Sernas IN the Grand Canyon Day 3

On our third day at the Grand Canyon we decided to take a hike below the rim.

We chose the Bright Angel Trail because we had read that it is one of the most family friendly trails.

The views from inside the Canyon proved to be as majestic as the views from the rim.

Byron and Gabe ventured out on a cliff over hanging the edge.

The Bright Angel Trail leads all the way down into the Canyon. That is a 2 day hike. Along the way, there are a few turn around spots. 1.5 miles down is a cabin and restroom. That was our goal for the day.

We made it down to the 1.5 mile marker and then had to hike back up.

The paths were narrow and often along a steep edge with no guardrails.

Along the way, we even saw a big horn deer.

We were a little nervous, especially after reading that there are 2-3 falling deaths every year at the Grand Canyon. So the views were quite literally breathtaking.

Day 3 ended up being almost everyone's favorite day!
