Sci-Tech Discovery Center

Last weekend our church held its annual Men's Conference. Here is a picture from Facebook of the men in our church huddled in prayer over Ukraine. If a picture speaks a thousand words, this one seems to speak so many more.

While Byron and Gabe attended that, the three remaining kids and I went out to explore the Sci-Tech Discovery Center in Frisco.

They had a contest to see who is the best sound engineer.

Faith won!

We made rainbow shadows.

We got to experience a hurricane.

Played with bubbles:

Made cups fly:

Made rockets powered by air pressure:

And had a great time!!

Celebrating the Spring Festival 2022

The Lunar New Year began on February 1st this year. We were able to celebrate with dear friends on Saturday.

We are SO thankful for the Hans who stepped in when we adopted Faith to teach her many Chinese customs. The biggest being celebrating the Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year).

Last year we didn't get together due to C19, but we were back this year making dumplings together!

Every year we have some authentic Chinese dishes and they are always different than the year before and all are delicious!!

We even had Tiger cake and Mango cake from 85 Degrees C - a local Asian bakery with delicious treats.

We watched the Spring Festival Gala on YouTube  and had a great time.

I am so thankful for friends that seem more like family!

Snow Day 2022

On Thursday, February 3rd, one day after the groundhog told us all to expect more winter, we woke up to a winter wonderland.

As the day went on more and more snow fell. Faith and Mig had so much fun playing in it!

Daddy even went out for some snowball baseball.

The big kids thought the snow was better from inside the house (temperatures were in the teens but felt like 7 degrees). The did come out for a quick picture, though.

It really was beautiful! This is the road behind our house.

Mig's buddy, Creed, came over for some hot chocolate.

After a snowball fight, of couse!

On Friday the snow was still around! Faith made a snow baby!

Unlike last year, by Saturday we were reaching temperatures above freezing (last year's storm was a week full of snow, below freezing temps, rolling power outages and resulted in us not having enough propane to heat our house. We were without heat for 3 days.) I told Byron that this was by far a more pleasant snow storm!
