Hot Springs Day 4 and 5

On our last full day in Hot Springs the kids wanted to explore the campground. Next door was an abandoned mini-golf course. It wasn't locked up and the putters and balls were sitting out waiting to be used.

After playing Putt-Putt, we found a geocache!

That afternoon the kids stayed at the campground fishing and playing while Byron and I were able to sneak out for a quick date!

We booked a private bath at the bathhouse. It was so relaxing and soothing!! It was a nice treat!

The next morning we ate at Grandpa's Griddle - a diner located in the KOA. Mig said it was the most delicious breakfast he has ever had.

Before leaving town, we stopped once more at the springs to fill up a jug of spring water to take home with us.

Hot Springs, AK was a very laid back and relaxing place to visit. We were so happy to get to spend Spring Break at Hot Springs!!

Hot Springs Day 3

On our 3rd day in Hot Springs we went back to Bathhouse Row to eat and shop.

We filled our bottles up with spring water again.

The only places to get into the water in Hot Springs is this small pool and the bath houses themselves.
Faith really wanted to try putting her feet in the water, but it was just too hot! The bathhouses have to cool the water!

We had lunch at a brewery that uses the spring water to make their beer. The brewery itself is a bathhouse that has been converted to a restaurant.

The rootbeer is also made from the spring water!

We had cupcakes from Fat Bottom Girl Bakery which was featured on Food Network! They were delicious!

Then we took a scenic drive up the mountain.

Along the way we saw a bald eagle!!

It was a wonderful day!!

Hot Springs Day 2 - Garvan Garde

On Day 2 of our Spring Break Adventure we visited Garvan Wooded Gardens.

Outside of the garden is a sweet chapel.

There weren't many flowers yet, but the ones that were there were a lovely pop of color in the otherwise brown surroundings.

What the garden lacked in flowers, it made up for in waterfalls, bridges and lovely walkways.

There was also a really cool tree house with multiple levels to explore.

My absolute favorite part was seeing the peacocks!

He was such a flirt!! He really showed off for those girls!

Isn't he GORGEOUS!!

If you are in Hot Springs - definitely go check out Garvan Garden!
