Meet Hooty!

On Monday, November 13, we were given the best gift ever!

My sweet friend, Darah, was needing a new home for her pug, Hooty. She is a flight attendant and just couldn't be home enough to care for him. She and her mom were praying for a home for him with children and owners that are able to be home a lot.

We have been considering getting another dog and so Sunday, while the kids were in AWANA, Byron and I went to meet Hooty. He won Byron over with his great personality and good behavior and so Monday morning Darah brought Hooty to our house and got to surprise Mig, Selah and Faith with him.

Hooty is 6 years old and big for a pug! 33 pounds!

He doesn't need a lot of entertainment and just wants to be in the room with his people.

He makes us smile and laugh and is such a great companion!

We are SO happy to be his new family and home!

Roanoke Veteran's Day Parade

Mig's CAP Squadron was invited to participate in the Roanoke Veteran's Day parade.

Mig is part of the Color Guard and is a Rifle Guard.

The Color Guard started the entire parade!

Mig looked so handsome in his dress blue uniform!

They did an amazing job keeping in step!

Byron and I were filled with pride for Mig as he served this way!

What an honor!

We got to meet a friendly dog.

And there was also a car show as part of the event!

It was a great day!

Mig's Orientation Flight

The Civil Air Patrol Mission:  Transform youth into dynamic Americans and aerospace leaders

Part of fulfilling this mission is providing cadets the opportunities to fly and learn about flying planes.

Mig had his orientation flight in October.

The Civil Air Patrol flies Cessna planes with an adult squadron leader.

He teaches them how to do the preflight checklists and more.

They take their flight over Denton County and to Gainesville to fuel up and then back to our home airport.

Once they get up to 2,500 feet, the leader lets the cadets take the reigns. Mig at just a few days over 13 years old flew a plane!!! That just blows me away!

Mig is really enjoying the program and all of the opportunities it provides!

Faith is 12!!

Twelve years and half a world away, this little spunky girl was born!

Faith is full of energy, and joy!

She lives life to the fullest and enjoys every moment!

She has a heart of gratitude and loves to give gifts!

When I asked what she wanted to do for her birthday pictures she said she really wanted to take pictures with Boba Tea.

So I bought a Boba for her and one for me and we headed to the Denton Square.

She looks so grown up!!!

Faith continues to work hard and persevere!

She is silly and spunky.

We are blessed to have her as the baby of the family!

And SO happy to help her celebrate TWELVE!
