Sharing Group Fun!

Once a month we join together with 3 other homeschooling families. We call it our Sharing Group. The kids each share about something they have learned that month, they eat lunch together and then they play for a little while. We love our Sharing Group. Since we started 3 years ago another Sharing Group has formed in North Denton. Many times we will meet together as one really big group to do field trips and other special things. A couple of weeks ago, we met up to do a 2 mile Fun Run.

First was a 1/2 mile run for all of the little kids.

I think Faith may have run 1/4 of a mile....but she had fun doing it!

The big kids could choose to do a 1 or 2 mile run.

Mig did 1 mile in 18 minutes.

He channeled his inner Papaw when crossing the finish line.

Selah also did a mile - but she didn't want to know her time. I love how she gently approaches the finish line and tears it with her hands.

Gabe ran 2 whole miles!! He finished in 24 minutes and 22 seconds and was the third in our group to finish the 2 mile.

Last week our Sharing Group got together and one of the other mom's led a pig heart dissection.

The kids were able to see all 4 chambers and touch the heart valves.

Gabe thought it was AWESOME!

Selah thought it was stinky. (It was!)

Mig thought it was "gross".

Faith just wanted to know when we could eat it. Seriously, she asked many times if we could eat it. In her defense, it did look like something I would pop in the slow cooker. Ha!!

What a blessing to have a group of homeschool families that we can learn with, hang with and just grow along side!!

Celebrating Mig

We celebrated Mig's birthday at THE ZONE.

The Stepanovs were able to come up and celebrate with us! The first overnight guests at our new house!

Mig was SO excited about driving the Go-Carts.

Faith was tall enough, but it turns out, she has a long torso and short legs, so she couldn't actually reach enough to push down the pedals.

So, the guy had to drive for her.

The Zone has two tracks. One is for little kiddos and one is for big kids. The little kids can ride with an adult on the big track, though. I think Byron and Will had as much fun driving the Go-Carts as the little kids did.....maybe even more fun!

Charli Kate and Tali did not like the Go-Carts. They both got off early in tears. Adrik, though, had a BLAST!! We just about couldn't get him out of the car!

After the Go-Carts, we did some mini-golf. These two guys played real golf the day before - so it turned out to be a golfing weekend for them!

Just to let everyone know - Rachel, Selah and I were the only ones to make a hole-in-one! YEAH! Girl power!

Next, we all hit the arcade. The highlight of the day was when the daddies got 500 tickets on one game!

When we got home, we did gifts and cake. Mig got a squishy fake poop at the arcade and thought it would be great in the extra cupcake spot. Yikes!!!

Of course, we had cake on his "real" birthday, too - which we got to celebrate with big cousin, Jonathan. :)

After cake, we built a fire and had smores.

We also told ghost stories.

Such a fun weekend celebrating our new favorite 6 year old!!

Mig is SIX!

Six years ago, our family and hearts grew bigger as we welcomed the arrival of little Mig. Little did we know then what a silly, sweet, rambunctious, yet, cuddly boy he would become.

Mig is all boy! He loves to play rough, be loud and do all things super masculine.

He loves to be outside and since we have moved to more land, he has been loving exploring the property.

He has a lot of favorite things. He loves pizza, macaroni and cheese, camouflage, police officers, fire fighters, costumes and Star Wars.

We call him our class clown because he loves making us laugh.

He still loves cuddling with Momma.

We thank God, daily for this gift he has given us in Miguel!
