Congratulations, Joel!!

For Memorial Day weekend we packed up and headed down to the Houston area.

My nephew, Joel, graduated high school and we went to celebrate him!! His only request for a party was a bounce house! So fun!!!

The kids love having Joel as a cousin!!

He had  a lot of friends and family come out to celebrate with him.

This is Joel's baby cousin Ellie - it's his dad's brother's daughter.....if that makes sense. :) She entertained all of us and really liked playing with the girls.

There was a big ping-pong tournament.

And a delicious home-made ice cream cake!

The bounce house was a BIG hit!!

I think Joel had a great time! We had fun celebrating him. None of us can wait to see what he will do next!

Denton Bible Church Middle School Choir Concert

Mig's Middle School Choir performed a fantastic concert on May 22nd.

Mig had a speaking part and delivered it beautifully!

This group will leave tomorrow and go to Waco to do some volunteer work and perform at Brother's Keeper Homeless Shelter. Then they will head down to Austin to sing at 2 churches there.
I am so thankful for the opportunity Mig has to be a part of this great group!!

Last Day of Homeschool 2022

May 20th was our last day of homeschool for the school year!

We are are very excited to be finished!

As always, we had a big celebration including end of year presentations. This year Nicol and Felix were able to join us!

Faith presented a biography she wrote about the life of Queen Elizabeth I. She also made a "bottle buddy" out of a 2 liter soda bottle to look like the queen,

Mig made a power point and did a presentation about the astronomers of the Reformation Period.

Selah did a presentation on the importance of the Christian Worldview.

Gabe did a presentation on Classical Composers through the Ages.

We also always end our school year with a unit study. This year out unit study was on the Periodic Table of Elements.

They all chose one of the elements to study and do a poster project over.

At the end of the presentations, Byron presented each with a Certificate of Promotion.

I also got a nod for teaching them all year. ;)

It was a great school year!!! It's crazy that Gabe just has one more year with us before he graduates high school - although I won't be teaching him - he will be taking all dual credit classes!
