Watch Out World!! Gabe is 16!!

Oh. My. Goodness! Gabe is 16 years old!!

How did that happen?!?

Gabe is just the happiest, sweetest, most kind-hearted teenage boy that you will ever meet.

He loves music, politics, reading and school.

He is taking his first college class this semester - Statistics -  and he is killing it!

This year he also entered an original music ensemble into a Young Composer's competition. He didn't win, but the judges were super impressed with his work and said that can't wait to see what he does next!

I can't believe that we have been parents for 16 years. What a joy Gabe has made it for us!

Our neighbor's sold us this convertible for a great price and it suits him well!

Hasn't he become the handsomest guy?!?

Happy 16th birthday, Gabe! We are so proud of the man you are becoming and feel so blessed to have a front row seat to watch you grow.

Faith is 10!!

It is hard to believe that this little one is already 10!!

She is spunky and curious. She wants to be in the middle of everything.

She is a go-getter and never lets anything get her down.

She is a big ball of joy, giggles and endless energy.

And, she is a talker. Boy, is she a talker!!

Faith, we are so happy that God made YOU 10 years ago! What a blessing you are to all who know you!

Halloween 2021

With Halloween being on Sunday this year, we played it very low key. We used costumes we had on hand. The kids have AWANA group on Sunday evening and they asked for the kids to come dressed as Bible characters.

Faith was an angel:

Gabe was David:

Mig was Pharaoh:

And Selah was a deer (Psalm 42:1)

The AWANA group also hosted a Trunk or Treat and so I volunteered our trunk! I decorated it with a PacMan theme and had video game music playing. It was so fun!!

I even dressed as a PacMan ghost!

I may have had more fun than the kids!

Respect Your Elders.

In April of 2020 Byron received a phone call from our pastor, Tommy Nelson. He told him that our church was in need of new/more Elders and that he was being considered. He asked Byron and I to pray over the decision to join the Elder board.

Over the next 18 months 10 men were brought on as Elder Candidates. The current Elders would have that time to see if the candidates would be a good fit for the board and the candidates were able to decided if the ministry was a good fit for them and their families.

The candidates were presented to the church body on September 26 giving the members time to bring up any concerns about the candidates.

Finally, on October 24th, Byron and the other Candidates were ordained as Elders. It is a very big honor and big responsibility. Especially for a church of our size. I am very proud of Byron and thankful for his willingness to serve the Lord in this capacity.

"Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them - not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve.
