1st Camera Slider video

Here is my first project using my camera slider. It gives a really cool cinematic effect. I am looking forward to using it in upcoming Serna Family videos!

Happy 2022!!

We had a super fun time celebrating New Year's Eve this year! We had special guests come to our celebration - Nicol and Felix!!

We started the evening with a DIY pizza bar!

After dinner we started our games. Each year we ring in the New Year with Minute-to-Win-it Games. We always play boys versus girls and the boys always win.

Game 1: Use cardboard poppers to shoot mini marshmallows into your team member's cup.
Boys win!

Boys: 1 Girls: 0

Game 2: use 2 carrots to move 1 mini marshmallow at a time to an empty bowl. The most marshmallow's in the bowl at the end of 1 minute wins!

Girls win!

Boys: 1 Girls: 1

Game 3: Bounce ping pong balls into an empty egg carton. The person with the most balls in the carton at the end of 1 minute wins!

This game was MUCH harder than it looks.

Felix did amazing at it!!
Boys Win!

Boys: 2 Girls:1

Game 4: 2 players needed for each team. One player uses only their right hand, the other uses only their left to wrap an empty gift box.

Girls win!

The girls finished first and were also voted to have done a better job.

Boys: 2 Girls 2

Game 5: Toss glow rings onto sparkling grape juice bottles. The team with the most in 1 minute win.

Boys win!

Boys: 3 Girls: 2

Game 6: Cookie Stack. The first to stack 10 cookies on their forehead (and hold them there for 5 seconds) wins.

Girls win!!

Boys: 3 Girls:3

Game 7: Cookie face off! The person to get a cookie from their forehead to their mouths using no hands in the least amount of time wins. This is also super hard. Nicol didn't believe it was actually possible. It sure made for some awesome pictures!!

Boys win!

Byron did it in 46 seconds!

I did it in just over 1 minute.

Gabe was inspired by the dogs that throw the bone from their nose into the air and catch them with their mouths. He would pop up and try to catch the cookie. It was very spastic looking!!

Boys: 4 Girls: 3

Game 8: Cup stacks - each team had 12 plastic cups plus one cup of an alternate color. The first team to move the cup of a different color to the top of the stack moving one cup at a time wins.
Boys win!

Boys: 5 Girls:3

Game 9: Reindeer Games: Teams work together to blow up balloons and stuff 5 in each leg of a pair of panyhose. The first to fill the hose and place them on a team member's head wins.

Girls win!!

Boys: 5 Girls: 4

Game 10: Ornament fanning. Teams chose one player to move a Christmas ornament from one side of the room to a box marked on the other side of the room using only flattened shirt boxes as a fan.

Girls win!!

Boys: 5 Girls: 5

Snowball Fight! We always end our games with an indoor snowball fight. We start with all of the plush snowballs in the middle of the room and then start the timer. Each team tries to throw all of the snowballs to the opposite side of the room. After 5 minutes, the team with the LEAST amount of snowballs on their side wins!

Girls win by 2 snowballs!!

Final Score:
Boys: 5 Girls: 6

GIRLS WIN FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!

After the games, we sat outside and watched the Dallas countdown to 2022.

At midnight we lit sparklers.

First family picture of 2022!!

Christmas 2021

We had a great Christmas this year!

The kids woke up to gifts from Santa on the fireplace.

Faith left a letter to Santa that said, "Dear Santa, I think I told you what I wanted at the mall, but I would also like gloves, a hat and a wand. But remember the reason we celebrate Christmas is about opening gifts and having fun, its about the Savior who came as a baby to save us from our sins. From Faith"

A bag for his school books:

A new glove! (Santa accidentally got him a softball glove instead of a baseball glove, so we returned it and took a trip to Scheel's!)

A Magic set with a hat, wand and gloves!!!

A board game!

Vintage Records!!!

Byron got me a video slider. It is pretty fun!

An antique!

Running boards for his truck!

Mom had asked me to make her a light blanket for watching TV. I had fun picking out material and putting it together.

They spent most of the day installing those new running boards.

Dinner was delicious! Pork tenderloin served over street corn with roasted gem potatoes.

Aunt Jackie always picks out the best shoes!

After dinner we did a saran wrap ball game - it was our 3rd year for this game!

By the end of the night, we were all exhausted and slept late the next morning!
