Gabe's Guitar Party

We celebrated Gabe's birthday on Saturday at Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs. It was so much fun! He had a Guitar themed party and ended up getting 3 guitars!! Boy was he happy!!
His electric guitar from Gi-Gi and Pop-Pop.

His accoustic guitar from Mommy, Daddy and Selah.

His guitar cake made by Aunt Suzy.

His "bass" guitar from best bud, Ryder.

Party guests! From left to right: Zander - Aunt Suzy's adopted grandson, Gabe, Anja - Gabe's "girl" (not girl friend just his girl), and Ryder - Gabe's best friend.

Gabe is 3!!

Yesterday Gabe turned 3 years old! I can't believe that 1.) he is 3 or 2.) we have been parents for 3 years! Wow! He is still really into music and musical instruments and is the biggest chatter box ever. Can't help but love him, though.

Our 4 month Beauty

Ok, Daddy.....you are going to need to start polishing your gun! Just look how beautiful Selah is getting. I can't believe she is 4 months old!! She is starting to play with toys, has found her feet, and is really, really trying to roll over. She is so much fun!

Fall in Colorado

A beautiful November sunrise....yes I am usually up early enough to see them. Thanks to the kiddos!!
We had our first snow fall on Wednesday, October 29. Gabe had a BLAST playing in it. Last year he hated the snow.

Selah's First Halloween

Political Costumes were a big hit! Here is our "Sarah Palin".

Halloween was a blast!! We went to the church's Fall Festival. Gabe had a great time playing games like washers and bean bag toss. Selah loved the cake walk. There was a great puppet show and we ended the evening with Gabe winning The Cutest Costume award and Selah getting an honorable mention!!

Trick or Treat!!

Since we aren't close enough to most of you to really Trick or Treat, here is our virtual Trick or Treating! Mostly a treat...I mean, really... are they not the cutest Kitty and Dinosaur you have ever seen!!!

Selah is still sooo tiny! 0-3 month clothes are still big on her. The only costumes I found that would remotely fit her are sized 0-6 months. No way! So I improvised. My mom sent me the cat onesie and I knit her little hat with cat ears and made her tu-tu. Then, of course, she had to have a bow sown to the hat!! So sweet!

Gabe had talked about being a "Bass-o-saurus Rex" for Halloween since August. For those of you who haven't heard of that species of Dinosaur....it is a T-Rex with the body of a Concert Bass. When we went shopping for Byron's birthday gifts at the end of September, I ran across this dinosaur costume. You should have seen his face light up!! It's not a "Bass-o-saurus" but it sure is cute! He has worn it at least once a week since we brought it home!

Family Pictures

I finally took some pictures of our new family of four! It was super hard to take these pictures with my wireless remote....how did I know if Selah was looking at the camera? Plus, Gabe was playing photographer and had to look at every shot taken before I could take another. By the end of the shoot, Selah was hungry, Gabe was cranky, Byron was frustrated and I was sweating!! We ended up with these...not too bad, although Selah appears to be singing in one of our group shots!! Ha! We will have to revisit the whole Family Picture thing again when Selah is a little bigger.

2 months already?!?

Selah is 2 months old now! She is weighing in at a whopping 9 pounds 1 ounce and is 21 3/4 inches tall. She is keeping us entertained with coos, smiles and chuckles!! Oh - and Gabe is 32 months and doing well, too!

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Byron had Labor Day off and the weather was beautiful...so we took advantage of the day and went to the zoo with our good friends the James'. Gabe had a GREAT time! He especially liked the hippo, feeding the giraffes, the carousel and the little train there. Selah got to meet Santa....Yes - Santa in September! He was enjoying the zoo as well. Yes, this jolly, old man, dressed in red with a beard as white as snow stopped me to ask how old Selah is. When I told him that she is only 8 weeks old he said, "Well, if you had your camera, you could get her first picture with Santa." Of course I had my camera!! What a sweet shot!

Train Ride

Our playgroup went to the Cripple Creek and Victor Railroad this Thursday. What fun!! It took us on a 45 minute ride through an old ghost town. Even Selah enjoyed the trip!

Gabe's Rainbow

We went out to eat the other night and on our way home, were surprised with a beautiful rainbow! Gabe was so depressed when he could no longer see it.

Touch a Truck Day

Woodland Park hosted a "Touch a Truck" Day this month. Gabe had so much fun climbing, honking horns and pretending to drive these big machines! He even got a "Fireman Hat" and wanted some pictures done it in!

Selah is 1 month old!

I can't believe Selah is already one month old! She is still soooo tiny! She is doing great. Such a happy-go-lucky baby. She has started smiling and even laughing on occasion! I have never heard of a baby so little laughing, but it just goes to show her sunny disposition. What a joy the Lord has added to our lives!!
Here are some pictures of her and her proud big brother!

Big Brother

You know how the say that Big Brother is always watching over you....well, I guess it is true. I put Selah in her crib and the next thing I knew, Gabe had gotten his stool out of the bathroom, pulled it up to her crib and was checking in on her! What a "Kodak Moment"!!
