New York Day 3 - Empire State Building and Chelsea

After seeing the library we had a little bit of time before our reservation to the Empire State Building, so we did a little shopping. Then we headed over the the Empire State building.

Before going up to the viewing deck, there are a lot of exhibits about the history and fun facts about the building. It is really well done!

I especially liked the section that highlighted all of the movies and TV shows that have the Empire State Building in them.

The views looking down on the city are amazing!

You can see the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge way out there.

The kids liked seeing where the Thanksgiving Parade takes place.

The Chrysler Building:

Once we were done at the Empire State Building we headed down to Chelsea to the Meat Packing District.

We passed by the Flat Iron Building:

And some beautiful churches:

We went to the Chelsea Market first and got in line at Los Tacos No.1. We were super hungry, but those tacos were delicious. I also had a Horchata for the first time. Yum!!

The market is really cool. But also very crowded.

Next, we headed up to the Highline. Look at those calf muscles!

The Highline is a walkway on overpasses where there used to be train tracks. It sat disserted for years before it was made into a public park.

The Highline was our final stop for our New York weekend. We took an Uber ride back to our hotel and then walked across the street to an adorable Greek restaurant called Avra Estatoria where we ate under a tent.

We had an amazing weekend and made so many memories!! Many thanks to Felix and Nicol for making it possible for us to take a much needed get away!!
