2024 Total Solar Eclipse

On April 8, 2024, we headed to West, Texas with Mig's CAP group to be right on the path of the total solar eclipse.

We rode down with the Sharp family.

Amanda and I have become super close and get to hang out nearly every Monday evening while our boys are at CAP.

The Texas Bucket List guy was there, too!

Storms and rain were forecasted, but the weather was amazing!

We had such a great view!

A NASA specialist was there taking notes and observations during the eclipse and talked our group through everything that was happening in real time.

It really did get dark like twilight or just past and stayed that way for over 4 minutes.

It was one of the most amazing things I have ever personally witnessed.

Byron worked from home that day and took his drone up during the eclipse. In his video (below) you can see how dark it got here!

It was an amazing day and we will remember it for the rest of our lives!!

Easter 2024

We had a wonderful Easter this year!!

Our Easter started with attending church. Then Easter portraits.

We dyed eggs - which we later used to make deviled eggs.

We ate a delicious smoked ham lunch then had an Easter Egg Hunt.

And we also did confetti eggs!

We had such a fun day!

Airman Leadership School

At the end of Spring Break, Mig participated in ALS through CAP in Mineral Wells.

He got experience staying in Barracks, more marching instruction, and learned the details about uniforms. He got yelled at, ate hot dogs for breakfast and loved every minute!!!

The Sernas in Paris

On our way home from Broken Bow we stopped in Paris. Paris, Texas that is!!!

There was also a war memorial there which was super cool!

Broken Bow Talent Show

One of our favorite activities on Spring Break was our Broken Bow talent show night!!!

Ruth was an amazing Master of Ceremonies, filling in with riddles and jokes between acts.

Selah, Gabe and I performed the Lauren Daigle song, "Thank God I Do"

Faith gave a hilarious stand up comedy act.

Mig and Judah played a song guessing game.

The girls did two dance numbers and taught us all one of the dances.

Hunter and Micah built a great cup tower.

Byron and Gabe recreated Jimmy Fallon and Will Ferrell's "Don't Stop Believing".

We ended the night with a fun game of fishbowl.
