Gabe Graduates!

On May 26th Gabe graduated with 13 of his closest friends!

These are all homeschoolers and many of them have known each other since elementary school.

Since they are homeschoolers and did not graduate with a school, the parents spent the school year planning a ceremony for them.

6 of them led worship.

It was a beautiful, gospel centered ceremony. Gabe and his friend Benjamin wrote and performed a song just for the day.

You can watch them sing it here:

Most of the students went through Charles Stolfus's Worldview classes (a 3 year intensive program full of literature, history, and more). They were so happy to have Mr. Stolfus as the Master of Ceremonies!

Byron acknowledged the work and dedication of the homeschooling families and especially the moms.

Brave gave an inspiring speech.

All but 1 student was a member of the Denton Bible Student Choir and so they voted for Kendall Lucas to be their Keynote Speaker.

After the ceremony Gabe told me that it was everything he had hoped for in a graduation ceremony!

He was very happy that so many friends and family were able to attend and cheer him on!

Kendall has been a big influence for him and a mentor since he was in 2nd grade!

Co-writers of the graduation song:

These guys have grown up together!!

Gabe decorated his cap with a campaign logo. Serna 2040 (2040 is the first year he is old enough to run for President of the United States of Amerca.)

After the ceremony we had a ton of people out to the house for cake, Chickfil-A nuggets and fun!

Gabe was blessed with many gifts and cards.

Aunt Jackie sent him a light bulb filled with cash!

Our gift to him would arrive after the party - a professional keyboard to take with him to DBU. Here is his reaction at his gift:

So happy!!!

It was a great celebration of Gabe's achievements and the close to his homeschool journey! Next step, COLLEGE LIFE!
