This was the first year in 3 years that our Student Choir has been able to go on tour, so even though Gabe is a Junior this year, this was his first tour. It was also Selah's first tour. I was also given the GREAT JOY of going as a sponsor.
Student Choir tour is really a mission trip that our church takes each year to sing and bring the gospel to juvenile detention centers and senior centers in Colorado, Texas and Arkansas.
Tour started on June 10th in our own city. Our first stop was Good Samaritan Village - a nursing home and assisted living center.
Our next stop was the Denton Juvenile Detention Center.
We had a great response at this JDC. The residents whooped, sang along and even left singing our final song.
It was a great way to start our tour before leaving the state. We would have a very full and emotional week ahead.
