Good-bye Sweet Frankie

12 years ago Byron and I announced to Mom and Dad G. that Byron had accepted a job offer in Woodland Park, Colorado. Mom looked at Dad G. and said, "I am going to get a dog!" She needed a companion especially since we were taking her grand-child 12 hours away.

Enter Frankie. They found him before we left at a foster home for puppies and he was a perfect fit. He and Gabe were almost the exact same age.

Before we arrived at Belton, Momma told me that Frankie had lost a lot of weight pretty quickly, was drinking a lot of water, and just wasn't get out of bed much.

While we were there he came and sat on the porch with us, enjoyed some love and just had a great weekend.

We left on Monday morning. By that evening, Frankie went downhill. The next morning Dad G. took him to the vet. By that afternoon, they had to make the very hard decision to put Frankie to sleep.

He was loved by all of us. The kids called him "Uncle Frankie" and "Frankie Lloyd". He will be so missed.

We were honored to spend his last weekend with him.

A true companion, never far from Mom's side.

Good-bye, sweet boy! We love you!!
