Labor Day at the Safari

It is time to do a major blog catch-up!!

On Labor Day we took a semi-impromptu road trip to Jacksonville, TX to drive through the safari.

It was a lovely drive and a beautiful day!

The animals were out and were hungry!

Chinese Pere David Deer:

White tail deer:

Black buck - he reminded us of Narnia's Mr. Tumnus:

The zebra were a favorite:

The donkeys made us all laugh!! They did this every time I pointed the camera at them!

Alligator:

Watusi:

The camels were very friendly!

Isn't this baby cute?

Highland cattle:

We had never heard of the Cherokee Trace Drive-Thru Safari before, but we were so pleased with our trip! We had originally wanted to go to the Glen Rose safari, but they were completely booked for the day. It was a fun way to spend Labor Day.
