Easter in Quarantine

We started Easter in Quarantine on Thursday morning with a knock on our door.

Some sweet friends hid eggs in our yard, knocked the door, and then ran away.

They even left a little gift for me!

On Friday, we got another "ding, dong, ditch" when a neighbor left a roll of toilet paper and donuts on our door step.

Saturday night we made resurrection cookies and went to bed. Sunday morning, the kids awoke to find full Easter baskets. Earlier that week, I was feeling a little sad. Because of quarantine, shopping had been limited and Amazon packages were running slow. I was able to pick up a few things while shopping for essentials. So instead of buying Easter gifts for their baskets, I decided to make them some gifts!

I made each of them a bunny and to commemorate our Quarantine Easter, a mask!

They thought it was great!

Our Bible Study Class had a Zoom Sunrise Service and Selah read part of the Easter study from Luke for the class. We watched the live broadcast of our church's service and then went through the KFC drive thru. After lunch we played! Instead of having a confetti egg fight - they decided to hit them like a baseball. We have been playing a lot of backyard baseball lately.

Last year I had the kids do an egg hunt relay race. They are on teams of two and one at a time go out to find an egg. They bring it back and then tag their team mate. The first team for both members to find 12 eggs wins! It is super fun, but fast paced - so I didn't take any pictures of the hunt.

GiGi sent pre-filled eggs with these little squishy toys inside. The kids were so delighted with them!!

None of us ever expected to be in quarantine for Easter. It was strange to not go to our regular services at church or to not be spending Easter with friends or family, but we made the most of it! Memories were made and fun was had by all!
