Working Girls!

Selah started looking for a job after choir tour this year. She was called in for an interview at one brunch restaurant and the interview went great, but they didn't hire her because she does not want to work on Sundays. One day she decided to go into a tea room near our house and take in her resume.

It ended up being the perfect match for her!! In the words of her new employer, "I wasn't hiring but she had such a precious smile I had to add her to our Beatitudes family!" She started working there a week ago and every Wednesday will be there playing guitar as people enjoy their tea and goodies. SO perfect!!!

I have also started a new part-time job!

On August 1st I officially took on the role of Children's Choir Coordinator at our church! I am SO excited to be working in Music Ministry and especially with kids!

It is a dream role for me and I love that it is part time so that I can still homeschool Faith and Mig and have plenty of time for my family going forward.

It is such a high calling to teach the next generation of worshippers!!

I feel extremely blessed!!

It's the First Day of Homeschool!!!

Today we started our homeschool year!!

Faith is now in 8th Grade!

Mig is a Sophomore in highschool!

My class is dwindling! Not pictured are Selah who started her Junior year of college today and Gabe who starts his Senior year of college next week!

Here's to a fun and full year, guys!!

Visiting the Vaughns

The first week of August we were able to take a road trip out to Kearne, Missouri (near Kansas City) to Vaughn Acres!

The Vaughns were part of our travel group to China to adopt Faith. We hit it off right away and have remained sweet friends!

Faith and their son, Maddox were both adopted on November 24th. We hope that one day they will get married. Wouldn't that be the most romantic story ever?!?

The Vaughn's property is so beautiful. We loved being there and meeting their 3 goats, Alvin, Simon and Theodore.

We were able to watch Myles's football practice.

And take a fun walk at the park where he practices.

Faith was officially converted to a Chief's fan.

One morning Annette and I came out dressed almost exactly alike! Her blouse and my dress were made from the same fabric! Then we found our sign while out shopping!

We also did a little piano duetting.

Also - fun story - Annette is working on a book project and I have contributed a chapter for it!!

You can find out more information HERE. The book is set to release on October 1st!

Friday was their youngest son, Merritt's birthday and to celebrate we all went to a Gameshow Battleroom and competed as teams in games that are similar to Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!

We also got to have lots of cuddles from their puppies, Lilly and Bailey.

We had to get a few pictures of the adoption buddies!

We had such a great time and can't wait to spend time with the Vaughns again!!
