After lunch we walked over to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal and boarded the Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty.
The views of the statue and the skyline from the ferry are spectacular and totally free!
Our next stop was the 9-11 Memorial.
A white rose on a name means that it is their birthday.
We were hoping it would work out to meet Will Jimeno on our trip, but he was out of town that weekend. Will and Mig have become long distance buddies since Mig did a history report on Will. We have remained in contact since.
In honor of Will, we searched for his buddy, Dominick who was trapped with Will and died in the rubble. You can see Will and Dominick's story on the 2006 Oliver Stone movie, World Trade Center.
Even though we weren't able to meet up with Will Jimeno, he graciously sent us tickets to enter the 9/11 Museum as his personal guests. The museum is somber and respectful. I would definitely recommend everyone visit it. You may want to leave some time after visiting to decompress, though. It is (rightfully) very heavy.
This display shows the color that survivors remember the sky on that day:

After all of the walking from the past two days, our feet were killing us! We took and Uber back to our hotel where we rested for a bit and then headed to an Irish Pub for dinner.
