New Years Eve for us means NEW YEARS COMPETITION!
Each year I plan a bunch of Minute to Win It games and we spend New Year's Eve battling it out boys vs. girls. (The boys win every year....Gabe said that his favorite New Year's tradition is winning the games.)
Our first game of the evening was called New Year's Toast. One player from each team was chosen to toss glowstick rings onto a bottle of sparkling grape juice. The most ringers in 1 minute win.
Next we played "Hanky Panky". One person from each team sat with one hand behind their back and had to empty all the tissues from a new box as quickly as possible.
Then we played "Midnight Kiss". All players were blindfolded (one at a time). They had to suck and blow paper lips onto a face taped to the wall. Closest lips win.
Faith was really good at this game!
Next we played "Wreath Toss". We hung a wreath from a broomstick. Behind it we sat a big bowl. The team that could throw the most marshmallows through the wreath and into the bowl in one minute won.
One of the most fun games of the night was "Elephant March". Players had to knock two rows of cups over using tennis balls at the bottom of panty hose. The panty hose were worn on each player's heads.
Quite the fashion statement!
Is it me, or do those panty hose make Byron look more mischievous?
The next game was "Party Blower Race". Two players compete to see who can scoot their cup off the table first using a party blower.
Then we played "Ponginator". The goal is to bounce ping pong balls into an egg carton. The first to land 8 balls into the carton, wins!
"Puddle Jumper" was our next game. We had to blow a ping pong ball from one water filled cup to the next.
Mig did NOT mind getting wet!
OK - changed my mind. Byron looks just as mischievous without the panty hose.
We also played a game called "Deer Nose Dive". Each of us put a dab of vaseline on our noses. We each also had an 8" ribbon with a pompom glued on the end. We then held the ribbon in our mouths and had to move only our heads to swing the pompom. The first to successfully have the pom stuck to their nose won. Byron won very quickly and I did not get any pictures.
The next game was called "Unicorn". Each player had to stack 10 cookies on their forehead. The first to successfully stack all 10 cookies and have the stack stay in place for 3 seconds won.
If there was a prize for poise - I think I would win.
Gabe tried to catch falling cookies in his mouth.
We always end with an indoor snowball fight.
Selah changed our numbers from 2019 to 2020 after we counted down the new year and popped our poppers.
Here's to a wonderful 2020!!
