I can't believe it, but Selah finally had enough hair for her first haircut (at 3 years old!)! My oldest niece is getting married in a few weeks and so I figured now was as good of time as any. Selah's hair had grown in very uneven - there was a big clump in the back that was fairly long, but the rest was just past her shoulders. The long part was getting pretty stringy and crazy, too. I had thought about leaving it long so that I could do something fance with it for the wedding, but it is so thin and uneven, I couldn't really do much with it. I asked if she would like to go to the beauty shop like Bubba and Daddy, but she wanted me to cut it for her....so I agreed. It was much harder than I thought it would be!! I was so afraid that if I cut the length, her pretty curls would be gone. Speaking of the curls! Her hair is so thin that wetting it didn't last very long and as it dried, it would curl. Finally I got the job done and she was so happy! We have been reading Beverly Cleary's Ramona books and watched Beezus and Ramona the movie that week and she wanter hair like Ramona's. So here is Selah's new do.

I combed it so much while it was drying that it kind of straitened out - and with the drought and dryness we have had here in Texas, it hasn't been as curly as usual, but it is still curly! Yeah!! Though, curls or no curls, she will always be my beauty!
