The Nursery!

The nursery is finished! I had my heart set on doing a "Twinkle Little Star" nursery theme, but wouldn't you know it, as soon as I was ready to order the bedding, it was out of stock. So the whole family headed over to Babies r Us and choose this Grasshopper theme! I never would have thought to do grasshoppers in the nursery, but it turned out soooo cute!! I love the green, orange and muted blue color combination! And did I mention that we got a great deal on it?!? Here is our nursery....

An up-close look at the bedding details - and a blanket that I knit for our little one.

Our late night snuggle corner.

This is some artwork I created to match the theme ... grasshoppers jumping through numbers and letters.

I bought the "WISH" and stars when I thought we were doing the Twinkle Little Star theme - but I made them work with our decor.

Selah and I put this together one day while Gabe was at VBS. A representation of my 3 little grasshoppers!

It is Papaw's tradition to present each expectant momma in the family with a stuffed animal for the new baby. Gabe got a cute little puppy dog, Selah got a white tiger momma and baby and this baby got a turkey! I think it is cute...but wonder if there is hiden meaning? I still have the animal he gave my mom when she was pregnant with me!

The Big Kids' Room

When Gabe and Selah became room-mates I asked them how they would like to decorate thier new room. I was beyond thrilled when they decided on VeggieTales!! WE LOVE VEGGIETALES! I think I like them as much or more than the kids! So here is thier completed VeggieTale's Themed room...

I love how these turned out! I found these quilt squares on ebay and mod-podged them to some canvases, painted the outside black, and voila! custom VeggieTales artwork. Each one has lines from the movies - so cute!

This is where we "organize" their art supplies.

They have done so well adapting to being room-mates and they seem to LOVE their new room!

Look, Mom! No training wheels!

Gabe decided that he is ready to take the training wheels off of his bike. What a big boy he is getting to be. So, suited up with his safety gear, Daddy took him out to teach him how to ride on 2 wheels. He hasn't quite mastered it yet, but I know it won't be long until he is zipping down the trail with no trouble!

Selah thought she was ready to give her tricycle a go, but her legs just aren't quite long enough yet.

Gabe's First Baseball Game!!

Last weekend Rachel and Will (Uncle Yev to Gabe and Selah) came up for a few days. We had so much fun with them! Saturday morning Byron and Will went golfing and Rachel, the kids and I went to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and Natural History and caught an Omni movie. Then that evening Byron and Will took Gabe to his first ever baseball game to see the Rangers play. They went early enough to watch the players practice and Gabe got a ball! I guess there was a foul ball that came right to them and the guy next to Gabe reached over and grabbed it and then gave it to him. He slept with the ball that night and spent most of the next day in nothing but his boxers and Ranger's cap holding his baseball. Soooo cute! Thank you, Will for catching this precious picture!!!

Vacation Bible School

This week Gabe has been attending Preschool Vacation Bible School and has LOVED it! When I pick him up he is ready to tell me all of the fun stuff he has done.

Gabe really loved his teacher's helper, Ms. Bailey, and talked about her all week.
I am so thankful for the teachers and workers who put this together. I know this week really touched Gabe's heart. He is already talking about next year's VBS!!

7 months...

We are starting the 3rd Trimester!! Yay! Every month I prop my camera up on the bathroom counter and take a picture of my growing belly. This month, Selah needed her belly shot done, too!!

Here I am, 7 months pregnant. Let the countdown begin!

So sweet! Hope she always is a good big sister...

Soon we will get the belly and the whole family together for some pics.

Happy Cow Appreciation Day!!

July 9th was Cow Appreciation Day!! On that day, if you dress as a cow and go into Chick-fil-A, you get free food....and I'm not talking a little food sample. You get whatever you want absolutely free!! So, I took this as an opportunity for cheap family fun - which I am ALL about! I ironed spots on some of the kiddos' white t-shirts, bought some black hats for all of us at the Dollar Tree and used the cow print outs at the Chick-fil-A web site to decorate them and then we proudly wore our cow costumes to Chick-fil-A - not once - but TWICE! Selah had her 24 month doctor's appointment that morning and had to have a shot, so we put on our hats afterwards and headed over for free brunch - you know - to cheer her up. Then, we met Daddy for dinner. Now, Chick-fil-A isn't gluten-free, but we let that slip this once and just had FUN!!

Our little calves - can you hear them "Moo-ing"?

So happy for Chick-fil-A!!

The kids each had a Kid's Meal, Byron got a Chick-fil-A Sandwich meal and I had a Chicken Salad Sandwich meal. For brunch, Gabe had a fruit cup and Selah and I shared a yogurt parfait. All totally free - if you haven't done this - look out for it next year! The people that work at Chick-fil-A are sooooo nice and helpful - both times they went above and beyond to help us have a great experience!!

Our "herd".
