The Trail

If you take a little walk from our house there is a trail nearby. It took me until October to finally explore it. The trail is AWESOME!! No need to go any further to see the beauty of Colorado. We had been having gorgeous weather and spending every day outside and so a few weekends ago the whole family took a hike on the trail. We have snow again, now, so it is nice to post these pictures and remember how nice the weather was!

A clearing with a beautiful view of the peak. AND Gabe with his walking stick - Papaw would be proud!
Selah was ready to be home by the time we started heading back. I thought her little feet tucked under Daddy's arms was adorable!!

Taken from the end of the trail.

Looking out over Woodland Park.

I really like this view of the Peak.

Gabe and I call this the "Dr. Seuss tree".

There is a pond at the beginning of the trail....what little boy can resist throwing rocks into a pond? Throwing rocks in water has been Gabe's favorite thing since before he was walking on his own!! Of course, Daddy had to throw some, too.

OK....this is my favorite shot EVER of Gabe and Byron. Isn't it adorable. Byron hasn't been home much since starting the Lab up here...but boy when he is does Gabe LOVE it!

St. Patrick's Day!!

About 2 weeks ago Gabe and I decided that we would have a St. Patrick's Day party. We found some decorations to print on Playhousedisney.com and made the decorations last week. Yesterday we were busy making a special meal for dinner. We had "Cream of Shamrock Soup" with Clover Crustinis, Green Mint Tea, and Shamrock Cookies. After dinner we danced to Irish music and played "Find the Clovers" and "Gold Coin Toss" until bed time. It was so much fun!!

The boys "enjoying" thier soup - neither one really liked it. I guess next year we will have steak with green mashed potatoes.
Our decorations

Selah enjoying her 1st St. Patrick's Day

""Cream of Shamrock Soup". It is really pea soup!

The things on top are the Clover Crustinis
And of course, Shamrock cookies for dessert!

Just some pictures..

Pike's Peak Valentine's Morning.
Selah says, "I'm full, but.....

I'd like to keep playing with the spoon!"

Mardi Gras!!

Today we went to our public library for a Mardi Gras party! Gabe had a blast!

Eating King Cake
Making a Mardi Gras mask.

Getting some Mardi Gras beads!
Who knew.....Mardi Gras in the mountains! HA!

Baby Dedication

We had Selah dedicated the last week in November. What a special day! The pastor you see here is Kirk Greenstreet - great Christian, delivers awesome messages. We were blessed to have him dedicate our little girl.

Earrings

"When are we going to get Selah's ears pierced?" Byron asks.
"I think we should wait until she is about 10."
"I think I'll just take her and have them done sometime." He says.
"Whatever."
A few weeks later...."I'm taking Gabe and Selah to the mall. You get a break and I'm going to get her ears pierced".
"Are you really?"
"Yep, I really am."
Ok....I didn't really believe him, but here she is at 7 months old and yes...he got her ears pierced. I have to admit, she looks really-really cute!
