GiGi hosts a Cookie Bake-Off for her grandkids every year. Usually the Bake-Off is in the summer, but with everyone's summer vacations, this year did not work out, so for the first time ever, we had a Christmas Cookie Bake-Off.
The rules are fairly simple; the cookies have to start from a cake mix. This year there was a new rule - the cookies can not have any ingredients that are desserts on their own. Candy is permissible, but ingredients like pudding, ice cream or brownies are not.
The kids come up with some really fun recipes!
The day of the contest, we all get a plate with a sample of each cookie and we vote for our favorite. It is getting harder and harder to judge! They are becoming great bakers! Gabe made a hot cocoa cookie. Selah's was a red velvet cream cheese cookie. Mig made a snowball cookie. Charli Kate made a peppermint patty Christmas themed cookie. Adrik called his the Molly (inspired by their dog). It was a chocolate cookie with cookies and cream crumbles and vanilla icing. Natalia's cookies had a reeces peanut butter cup inside and chocolate chips on top. Faith made Grinch cookies. They were peppermint flavored green cookies with a tiny red candy heart.
After all the votes were tallied, the winners were announced.
3rd place went to Mig
2nd place was Adrik
and
1st place was Charli Kate!
Everyone had a fun time and a sore tummy by the time we were finished!
Good job kids!
