On Easter Sunday we had a lot of snow. Probably about 8 inches. One of my friends sweet mom's said it was wonderful to have snow that day because to her it represented the blood of Jesus making our sins as clean and white as snow. WOW! I loved that! But on Thursday we had a LOT more snow. Today we have about 3 feet of snow and are practically snowed in. OK. I know we live in Colorado, but come on already! I am ready for sun shine and warm weather!

Easter Hunts
What a snowy Easter!! Here are some pictures...
Gabe and Selah got baskets filled with goodies!!
We had Easter dinner with the Nowland and Zeller Families. Diane Nowland was so sweet to have us over for Thanksgiving and Easter this year. They have really become our family away from home. This is a picture of Kristin and Kaitlyn Zeller. Kristin is Diane's daughter. Kaitlyn is one of Selah's favorite people. She gets so excited to see her!

A sweet Father/Daughter moment.
Waiting while Daddy hid Easter Eggs. Now one of my favorite Gabe pics!
SCORE! M&M's! Diane had an Easter Egg hunt for Gabe and her grandkids.
Hunting for Eggs at our house after a very disappointing community egg hunt. Can't get better than hunting for eggs in your underware and a t-shirt!
Daddy hides eggs well.
The community hunt. OK... a little rant. It was snowing and the kids had to register at 9:00am. Then they had to stand around and look at these eggs (in plain view) for an hour before the hunt started. THEN the 4-6 year olds were allowed to go first. They were supposed to get 15 eggs each - but they just went out and grabbed. By the time the 1-3 year olds went there were no eggs on the ground and parents were dumping out the extra eggs the 4-6 year olds got. Gabe had been practicing his egg hunting for weeks and was sooooo disappointed that all he got to do was pick up the left overs! It's ok. We had a great hunt at our house afterwards!

9 month and Easter Pictures
Just a few pictures
Before we left Texas, Granny had started teaching me to knit. I now knit almost every night. I am so thankful for that hobby that she has passed along to me. In her honor I am posting this picture. It is Gabe and Selah ready for church yesterday - both wearing sweaters Granny has lovingly knit them. We love and miss you Granny!!

Sweet Selah
This is what I have the privilege of seeing every morning and after every nap. She is such a sweet and happy baby! I feel so blessed when I go in to get my sweet baby girl and she has such a precious smile for me. It's like she is saying, "Good morning, Mommy, I am so glad to see you." It makes my day...hope these pictures make your day, too.
SNOW!!!
Last Thursday we had a blizzard!! We had a lot of snow yesterday, too. The weather really fooled us for the most part of March and Gabe, Selah and I were really enjoying it. I even put up my big coat! HA!! Winter is NOT over in Colorado!! So - we have made the most of it.
This is Gabe's big bowl of minty snow ice cream. Yes - we "harvest" the clean, fresh snow and make ice cream. Here is a recipe if anyone could use it:
5 - 6 cups of CLEAN snow
1/2 c powdered sugar
1 c milk
1/4 tsp of vanilla
1/4 tsp of any other flavoring you desire - (we have done mint and coconut)
Mix together and enjoy!!
The Trail
If you take a little walk from our house there is a trail nearby. It took me until October to finally explore it. The trail is AWESOME!! No need to go any further to see the beauty of Colorado. We had been having gorgeous weather and spending every day outside and so a few weekends ago the whole family took a hike on the trail. We have snow again, now, so it is nice to post these pictures and remember how nice the weather was!
A clearing with a beautiful view of the peak. AND Gabe with his walking stick - Papaw would be proud!
Selah was ready to be home by the time we started heading back. I thought her little feet tucked under Daddy's arms was adorable!!

Taken from the end of the trail.
Looking out over Woodland Park.
I really like this view of the Peak.
