Wintery Weather!

 

We have had such a mild winter up until this weekend!! I thought for sure that we would get away with no snow or freezing this year. BOY was I wrong! 

Friday was rainy. Friday night temps got below zero. Saturday early morning brought sleet and freezing rain. Sunday morning everything was covered in snow and ice. We didn't get out of freezing until Tuesday afternoon. Schools and church have been closed and will continue to be closed through Wednesday! 

Faith and Mig have been happy to have all this snow!

I do not love it, but I love a good photo op! 

The birds have also seemed to like it. 

And now I am ready for summer! 

A Surprise 70th!

 On January 8th, my Momma celebrated her 70th birthday!

The following weekend Byron, the kids and I drove down to surprise her with a birthday lunch! 

The plan was that Mom and Dad G. were going to take their neighbor friend, Becky, out to lunch like usual and it was "Becky's turn to choose the restaurant". In reality, Dad G. chose the restaurant - Dynasty. We got there before their reservation and she really was so surprised - as you can tell from the video! 

We were SO happy we could make this big day special for her!! 

It was a sucessful surprise!

2025 is OUT!

2026 is IN!

We celebrated as a family with food and games! 

We all made it to midnight to ring in the new year together.

Here is a video of our wacky games - and just like always, the BOYS won again!

On New Year's Day we watched the parade and relaxed! Faith made a New Year's cake with the things Santa brought her for Christmas. 

We ate gumbo with black eyed peas and started the New Year off on the right foot. :)
