First Day of School 2024

Yesterday was our first day of school for the 2024-2025 School Year! 

Faith started 7th Grade

Mig started 9th Grade - his first year of high school! 

He will be starting Worldview (3 year intensive program) next week

He is also taking Chemistry, Spanish 2, and Test Prep

Selah is now a Senior!!! 

She is taking college classes through a program called Sophia!

We are excited to start this school year!

I am also starting something new! I am doing a 2 year comprehensive program called Bible Training Center for Leaders (BTCL). It equips women for ministry and leadership opportunities within the church. 

And did you notice our shirts? We won't tell you who we are supporting, but I'm sure you can figure it out. 

 Here's to a great school year and hopeful for a great election! 

Hooty turns 7!

August 8th was Hooty's 7th birthday, but his first birthday as a Serna, so we made sure to celebrate!

He got a special birthday dog bone! 

Which he loved!

We also gave him a new stuffy (he loves Squishmallows)! 

 He is one loved puppy!!!

The Running Mig

This summer Mig started running with a local charter school's cross country team. Being a homeschooler, he can't actually run with their team, but he joined most every practice. He then signed up for his first 5K on August 1st!

He ran so hard, he threw up! But then he kept going. One person that finished just before he did came over to us to tell us what a tough kid he is and that she was impressed that he just kept on!! 

It sounds like he really earned that first 5K medal!!

 

Selah's 16th birthday celebration!

Selah turned16 on July 6th!

We celebrated with a Bagel Bar for breakfast followed by gifts. 

Her big gift was her very own car!!! 

GiGi and PopPop got a new van and sold us their car to be Selah's first car - and it is PERFECT for her!

How cute is she!?!?

Instead of a traditional 16th birthday, she wanted to take some sweet friends thrift shopping. I took that one step farther and created games for each of the stores we went to!

At this store, they secretly drew a name and picked an outfit for that person. 

They did a good job of picking outfits!!

Noel liked hers so much, she bought it!! 

At this store they did a BINGO card.

At this store they each tried on Wedding gowns - so cute!

The last store was a scavenger hunt.

We ended the day with ice cream at Beth Marie's. I think all of the girls had fun!
