Gabe leads worship!

On August 13th, Gabe was given the incredible opportunity to lead worship at church. It was promotion Sunday and our Worship Pastor asked Gabe to get together a team of youth leaders from the Student Choir, plan the service and select the songs. He did an amazing job and was such a blessing to the congregation!!

Below is a video of the first worship set. It was so amazing to watch my son lead worship!!! Turn up the volume and let it bless you, too!

Fun in the sun!

Gabe decided to do something special, one-on-one with each of us before leaving for college. He took Selah to HTeaO and Pender's music store. He and I went to a coffee shop/book store we had been talking about checking out for awhile. He and Byron went to Top Golf. Gabe and Faith went to Gnome Cones for a snowcone.

Gabe and Mig had been planning their outing for a very long time. They went wakeboarding!

Faith went to the aquapark while they were wakeboarding.

Gabe went wakeboarding a few summers ago and really enjoyed it!

This was Mig's first experience!

They cheered each other on the whole time!

Sweet memories were definitely made that day!

Our little nest

In mid-July Byron noticed a bird nest in a potted plant by our front door. It had one egg inside. The next day, there were two egg. Then there were three. Finally there were four eggs. If we watched closely, we could even see the eggs shake! I researched the nest and decided it had to belong to a wren. I chronicled the nest over the next 30 days and it became such a joy for me!!

Finally on day 18, two babies hatched!

On day 19, the third egg hatched.

The 4th egg never hatched, and was useful as a pillow.

A week after they hatched I went to check on them. One baby was missing. Later that morning, I went back to see if the baby had fallen out and there was a BIG black snake on the porch! I assume he got one baby and was coming back for more before I scared him away!

They eventually realized that I was not bringing food and would hunker down in the next and pretend like they weren't there.

On the morning of day 30 we heard a lot of tweeting and chirping from the porch. When I went to check on them, they were gone. What sweet timing as they left the next Just two days before dropping my oldest child off at his college dorm. What a sweet gift to experience.
